Vermont’s majestic snow-covered mountains offer the idyllic ski vacation experience, complete with the perfect mix of rustic New England charm and resort-style amenities. Whether you’re a seasoned expert on the slopes or simply enjoy the après scene, there’s no shortage of options for a snowy weekend getaway. Nestled at the base of Stowe’s iconic Mount Mansfield is Spruce Peak, a welcoming slopeside destination that captivates guests with consistently elevated experiences. As the only ski in, ski out community in Stowe, everything needed for a great vacation is located right at your doorstep.
The Community
At the heart of Spruce Peak is a grand Village Center – a bustling hub of bistros, boutiques and other diversions of surprise and delight. Wrap up a day on the slopes with a simmering serving of silky raclette or warm cider donuts (dipped in real maple syrup!). Drink in some knowledge at a tasting of whiskeys or quench your thirst with a local craft beer. Enjoy ice-skating out on the rink, snowshoeing under a starlit sky, or cheering for encores at a live, on-site concert. If it’s me-time you’re after – head to the spa for some well-deserved pampering, or soak in the warmth of a pool or hot tub.
Unmatched Ski-in/ski-out Accommodations
Central to the Village is The Lodge at Spruce Peak, a luxury four-star hotel featuring more than 300 artfully appointed guestrooms, suites and residential offerings. Stunning mountain views greet every guest with windows that soar from floor to ceiling, and a stay in one of the Penthouse retreats avails you perks normally reserved for residential owners alone – including private check-in services, dedicated concierge assistance, daily continental breakfast and so much more.
Slope Side
As the only ski-in, ski-out luxury lodging in New England, The Lodge continues the ultimate alpine experience that has attracted world travelers to Stowe for over a century. From family-friendly beginner slopes to expert black diamond runs, there’s a ski vacation for everyone – just steps away from your room. What sets Spruce Peak apart is the attention to detail in every step of your ski day. The ski valet, located on the first floor of The Lodge, stores your gear safely and makes sure your gear is prepped for first tracks. The dedicated team makes sure your experience is all about skiing and not all the hassles that go along with it.
Adventures off the Slopes
It may be difficult to tear yourself away from the incredible skiing, but when you do, you’ll find the area also boasts some of the best snowshoeing, ice climbing, and cross country skiing. Spruce Peak Outfitters is the gear and adventure resource for guests, residents, and club members looking for the ultimate Vermont mountain experience. The Outfitters team will create a personal itinerary and guide you through a journey of discovery, including hiking/climbing, backcountry trail on horseback, moonlit snowshoe tours or full day private excursions. There’s also a state-of-the-art indoor rock climbing center located in the Village, featuring climbing challenges for adventure seekers young and old.
From Apres to Farm-fresh Cuisine
Whether you’re looking for fine dining or relaxing pub fare, you’ll find many delicious options for dining at Spruce Peak. Inside The Lodge is Solstice Restaurant, offering an upscale dining experience focused around local flavors and exceptionally fresh ingredients. The menu features refined cuisine that is distinctly Vermont. For a special experience, reserve a Chef’s Table, providing a personalized omakase style dining experience at the best seats in the house. Enjoy up to seven courses while the sommelier suggests wine pairings for each course.
The Hourglass Lounge is also located in The Lodge, serving a variety of local microbrews, signature cocktails, and delicious pub fare. The sophisticated but laid-back atmosphere is perfect for relaxing with friends after a day of skiing. Don’t miss the brand new WhistlePig Pavilion, offering WhistlePig inspired cocktails, microbrews, fire-baked raclette, and a uniquely Vermont place for guests, owners and members to come together. It’s the perfect gathering spot to relive the day’s adventures with family and friends.
The Beanery is a great spot for breakfast on the go, offering sandwiches, hot chocolate and a variety of hot and iced espresso drinks. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced, making the menu even more delicious. Cap off your night at the Linehouse, a unique, reservation-only speakeasy tucked away down a nondescript staircase somewhere between The Lodge and the nearby chairlifts. Inside you’ll discover an ever-changing menu of craft cocktails, old record players, and the perfect setting to end the night.
Getting There
Spruce Peak is roughly three and a half hours from Boston by car. The PlaneSense® fractional program makes it easy to quickly reach the region, allowing you more time to enjoy all the Resort has to offer. Both the Pilatus PC-12 and PC-24 jet are able to easily access the Morrisville-Stowe Airport (MVL), just a 20-minute drive from the Resort. The short-field landing capabilities of both aircraft make it possible to land at MVL when others are unable. Fleet Transportation provides VIP car service from the airport to the Resort.
